Father Silas Rooney in China; Cast Bronze Sculpture; Verdi Gris Green Patina. The sculpture shows Fr. Silas Rooney, a Franciscan Friar, rescuing two infant twin girls from being tossed into the Yangtze River. The event takes place in China during the Sino-Japanese War of 1937. An empty sack is shown next to Fr. Silas. His name, Silas Rooney O.F.M is carved into the sculpture base. The dimensions, including the walnut wood base is: Height 11" x Length 10" x Width 7.5".
